When Siddhanth Sawkar was forced to close his café and home catering-turned-food truck brand, Spitfire Barbeque, owing to the pandemic, he spent a couple of months mulling his next move, making pizzas. Not just a generic version as dished out by fast food chains! Instead, he dug deep into his experience as a culinary student in Southern Italy, to open a pizzeria serving Sicilian style pizzas in his erstwhile North Bengaluru café in Yelahanka New Town. Siddy’s Pizza, as I discovered during a leisurely visit, is a one-man passion enterprise, where Siddy, as Siddhanth is known, does everything from taking the order to putting together the pizzas to serving customers who quite often chat with him as the cheese-laden flavourful pies bake in the oven. Garlic Butter Bread
Pillowy soft and gushing with garlic-infused buttery flavour; the butter is molten as the bread comes out of the oven! Changes your perspective of what simple garlic bread can be! The cheddar cheese dip makes for an indulgent accompaniment.

Classic Margherita & Cheese - Large
Its dough fermented for a few hours, the pizza is firm and toasty, drooping at the edge, burdened under the weight of a generous topping of cheese. The sharp, spicy notes of the homemade tomato sauce, salsa semplice, is softened by the mozzarella.

Smoked Chicken & Cheese - Large
The juicy personality of the chunky, smoked chicken franks take over the palate the moment you bite into this cracker of a pizza, followed then by the slightly, sweet crunch of the onions. The cheese and tomato sauce play second fiddle to the meat and onions. If you love smoked chicken, this pie is a must-have!

Classic Pepperoni & Cheese - Large
Lush in virgin olive oil, this is a classic Sicilian style pizza, its ‘bready’ texture quite similar to a focaccia. There’s plenty of mozzarella that sits atop the pizza, followed by the spicy sauce and onions. But it is the fat-laden savoury fervour of the pepperoni that is the hero of this pizza! This pizza is also the sort that would make for a great midnight snack when left over in the refrigerator.
